I have been trying to trace my Ash(e) line and seems to have lost the trail. My Ash(e)'s are in the 1850 Northampton Co. North Carolina census. They are listed as Mulato. There was Mary age 70, William , Albert, and Parthenia. Albert was in his early 20's. They had a older brother named Balius. Mary may have been a grandmother because of the age difference. In the begining I had Mary's husbands name as Jesse but I don't have it documented as to where I recieved this information. It would appear that Mary was born about 1780 and to have been a free black. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks GG
