I am descended from Amos Ashe ca 1800 and Jessie Ashe ca 1784 (father-in-law of Amos)who came from Lincoln Co., NC. There are still a lot of Ashe's in Macon, Jackson, and Haywood Co's, NC. John has a good book but couldn't get all the families because a lot of people never sent back their family charts. I met him when he was working on it and he tried really hard but people weren't as interested then. Good hunting.
