My husband descended from David Asherbranner in Lawrence. It has been a long time since I researched, but would love to share any info I have. The Asherbranners from the Lawrence County, AL descend from David Diason Asherbranner (b: 24 Feb. 1817, Lincoln Co., NC. He came to Lawrence County, AL in the 1860's. he was the son of Abraham and Sarah (Gross) Asherbranner (B:1792 d: 1860''s). Abraham was the son of Henry and (Barbara) Asherbranner (b: 1747, York Co., PN d: 29 May 1800, Lincoln Co., NC. Henry was the son of Urban Ashabranner, B: Palatine (Germany) and Anna Maria. NOTE: I found a record of URBAN ASHERBRANNER and ANNA MARIA MAGDALENA STEPHIN married at Evangelische, Dannenfeis, Pfatz, Bayern. The records show Urban Asherbranner born Oberellenbach, Hessen-Nassau, Preussen, 11 Oct. 1696. Could this be our Urban? I am not at home with all my notes and research, I know Urban Asherbranner was spelled differently in the records. I was in contact with Ashabranner in NC, when I did not research. With the lady I talked to, she said family members never Knew what happed to him. They thought he had died. He left home at about age 18-20's. I found in the 1850 census of Cherokee Co., NC. and no further record until he came to Alabama. David Diason Asherbranner married a Sarah. I never found record of marriage.
