Hi, guys
It is nice to see people out there interested in the family. I do have the date for Hannah's death, but my first question would be which Hannah, since there were about 5 of them. My sister has the family tree book, I'll have to call her about that date.
Next - every time I go home to Gaspe, people do not call me AS - KA, they call it AS - KEY. I know mom and dad changed it to AS -KA when they moved from the east coast to Burlington, Ontario, because no one down here could say it right.
I am thinking about writing a history book about the Ascah family, since we are truly unique in North America. If you have any history, I would love to hear about it. I can tell you that the first Ascah fought at the Plains of Abraham, and was awarded the piece of land in Gaspe for his service. My brother now owns the last of that land.
As you can see I would love any pictures and history you might have.
