Our Asbury line is from West Virginia. Our line is from Charles and Susie Asbury near Matoka WVA, they are buried at Walker Creek Cemetary. Charles committed suicide by digesting rat poison. There is a story he told about walking over the blue ridge mountain with his son John.
There is also the story that Susie was indian or part indian, her mother was Jane Gross and her father was Temp Crom.

Their son John Asbury we believe was born 1902, married Maude Farris, they lived on the border of North Carolina when first married,in NC. There were 11 children born.

Their son George William Asbury born April 1, 1925, was our father he married Phyllis Adeline Signorelli in KC after the war. They moved back to WVA and then moved back to KC MO in the late 1940's. My husband is also George William Asbury II born in KC MO and our son is George William Asbury born in MO.

Does this tie into your line?
