I am trying to locate Jennie Asbury born 1867 to 1877 born in Texas or Tenn. She was married in Montague,Texas on 10-24-1895 to Robert Allen Pruitt (R.A. Pruitt to Miss Jennie Asbury) on file with LDS batch # M592553 1892-1899 Source call# 1024889 V.E-F..Film..I went through the Texas Marriages on Rootsweb and can't find the Marriage. Jennie & Robert ended up in Magnum Greer Tx/OK and Jennie passed away in 1944. One of my mothers cousin said she remembered there were other Asbury's that came to visit and were in the of Upshur, Harmon, Montague, Texas area,etc.
There was an E Asbury male age 22 in the 1880 census in Montague, Montague, Texas. Hopefully there is a connection somewhere, but I can't find it. I have looked for over a year trying to find my great grandmother, but do not know for sure her fathers name or mother name. We have been told that her mom died while she was still very young and she was raised by an Uncle. The story was that the father remarried and the new wife didn't want the children. One of the granddaughters stated that Jennie didn't talk about her mother as she didn't remember much about her. Also the Uncle that raised her was called Uncle Bernie(Burney)
I need help.
