Aris is in the line I am investigating. He married Betty Jane Collins (daughter of Ursuly - Claiborne County), had Marion Asbury and Mary Georgeanna. Aris and Betty Jane divorced and she remarried. I have no further information on him.
What I have found is his enlistment in the Union Army, 40 Kentucky Infantry, 40th Regiment.
I did not know that Purdence was a Collins, but I did notice on the 1860 Census in Whitley Co., Kentucky, Alex Collins wife is listed as Prudy and he has marked the box that he married within the year. Did he, as a widower, marry the widow Prudence Asberry/Asbury?
This is complete conjecture on my part, but I'd love any thing to support or shoot it down!
