Jean:

I am sorry that I have no information at all about your Richard Cross.

I am trying to figure out how or if my other families in Harrison County might be related to the Lakes. And that then the Lakes might lead me further back where I might find some of these difficult ancestors.

Of course, all our Colonial ancestors can be a challenge to research - unless, of course, they were famous and rich.

The related surnames in Harrison County were: Behan, Mackie, McKenney, Neel/Neal. I know that the McKenneys arrived in the region about 1776 from Maryland (per a Rev War pension application). I know that Behan's son, Lancelot jr, was born in Frederick County. But it is not known if it was in Maryland or in Virginia!

So the search goes on!
