Looking for information on Stacy Asberry.
Stacy is found on the 1870 Floyd Co., KY Census as b.TN , age 35. He is in the household of Lewis King and Edith Flanery King and their daughters Margaret and Rebecca.
Margaret had a son named Elhanan (that should have been about 3 yrs old at the time this Census was taken but is not shown. Elhanan is shown on the 1880 Floyd Co., KY
census as 13 yrs old. In 1880 he is found with Margaret and her spouse Henry Triplett.
Henry is not the father of Elhanan King.
According to family stories, Elhanan's father was a "drummer" (traveling salesman) and left one day when Elhanan was very small and never returned.
I have only seen transcribed census which does not show if Stacy Asberry is male or female. Could this Stacy Asberry be the father of Elhanan.
Lewis King (household where Stacy is found living in 1870) married under the name Lewis Wright. In the 1840 & 1850 Floyd Co., KY Census he is found as Lewis King. In the 1860 Floyd Co., Census he is found as Lewis Remy (his married son living near also is found as Remy in 1860). Thereafter they are found as King. Elhanan's descendants are found as King's.
If anyone has any information or clues about Stacy Asberry or this Wright-King-Remy-King family, I would love to hear from you.
