Randall, I have found information on Rootsweb.com and the LDS website. They show information on Sarah Potts. The information is that Wheeler Potts B 1815 in TN is her father and that Elizabeth Toombs B 1817 in Illinois is her mother. I am not able to verify this however. I do not find any information on Marial Asbell. This tid bit of info may lead you down a path where you can verify it. My husband's family is from the pope county hardin county area. I have been looking for info on Hicks/Asbell for a bout a year now. Hope this helps and good luck. We are at Dannyntonya1983@yahoo.com
