I remember reading about an Asbell/Asbill lady who donated family research material to USC Columbia. I think I read about it in George Bennets book. I have a copy of Bennets book and I strongly advise against using it. It is sometimes correct and can put you in the right direction, but more often than not you will be on the wrong tract. If anyone checks into this info please share it with the rest of us.
