My great grand-father was Elijah Asbell from Colquitt County, Georgia. He married a Lillie Mae Crosby and I believe she may have been from Thomas County, Georgia. I don't know a lot of history about the Asbell's but some of Elijah's children are and in no particular order:
Arnie Aubrey; Grady; Jeanette; Mae; Myrtle Lee; Iona; Junior and I can't remember the rest. I'll try to find more info on his siblings. It seems I've heard a story about an Uncle William. I'm not sure who this story is about but have you heard about an Asbell man working on the railroad and a railroad spike hit him in the chest and died. I believe that as close as these counties are, there may be relations here. Here's hoping we'll find out more about the Asbell's. I don't have any dates but I do know Elijah died in the 1950's.
