I "think" that Peter Artz was the son of Henry Artz. Henry had his estate settled in Washington County, MD in 1808. There are children listed as follows: Christian, who was the adm., Abraham, Henry, Peter, Joseph, Elizabeth, Philip, John, and Mary. One third to the widow, who is not named.
From old letters of Peter Shaffer Artz, of Shippensburg (PA), he says that his grandfather came from Lancaster County (PA) at an early day and settled in Washington County, MD.
I have not been able to prove that this Henry is the father of my Peter as yet.
