I have always been told that the town of ARTRIP, VIRGINIA was named after my grandmothers family. Her name was ALTA ARTRIP. My dad's father was WALTER COMBS. There were many brothers and sisters. I know that my great Aunt Matt was married to a John Ballard. There were also Evie, Sim and Dallas. Somewhere along the line someone married into the COUNTS family. Is this any relation to the Artrips you found. Please let me know as I have been searching for some time for who I am.
