I am looking for children of Ebbert Artrip. What I know is that he was married 5 times. Family legend has it that his first wife and their only baby died within 3 hours of each other due to Spinal Meningitis....that in itself drove him nuts. I know that he had married Mary Alice Johnson- and 2 children with her (Ebert Earl and Mary Ellen Artrip). I do not know if this was his second or his third marriage. I do know that one of his marriages, when Mary Ellen was approximately 15 years old, was scandalace. Her "Step-Mother" was 2 years older than she- and just a baby, that the family apparently tried to cover up to shield the mother and baby from harm due to society. His mother, Ida May Colegrove Artrup, had words with him on this subject. I have the names of his children- and I hope this reaches either his sons or daughters- or the family of those sons and daughters. Mary Ellen was my mother-in-law's (Dee) mom, and Dee would like to find her aunts and uncles if they are still living, and her cousins through them. The names of Ebbert's children are:
1) Evert Woodrow Artrip
2) Ella Louise Artrip
3) Ida Artrip
4) Frances Artrip
5) Mae Artrip
and there may be a sixth child name unknown.
The only Frances that I have found any records on at all- is Frances Artrip born December 14, 1911 and died in Cleveland/ Russell County/ VA on July 10, 1992.
