Evan Arthur b. abt 1815 Wales Tradogar, Wales. Arrived US in 1833, employed as an iron worker. Married Martha Beavin. They had eight children including David B. Arthur b. 1837, C.E. Arthur (male), Ellen Arthur, Enna Arthur and John Arthur, L.J. Arthur (male) and Martha I. Arthur. He and his family arrived in Grant County, Wisconsin from Iowa in 1851 and his wife died shortly thereafter. Evan Arthur went back to his Methodist roots and became ordained as a minister.
David B. Arthur married Mary Currie Moralee, I believe a first cousin. in 1858. In 1862, he joined the Wisconsin 20th Regiment Infantry. I believe he served until July 1865. He and his wife had at least one child, Joseph Arthur, b. about 1859.
Does anyone recognize this family. If so, I have a bit more information and am looking for more: marriage location, other children of any of these people, etc.
