Thank you for your response....there are several good leads in there for me to follow...James Maddix is my brick wall...I'd love to know how he got to be on PEI. Do you have source docs for him...marriage cert or death cert? (Oh...and did you know Scholastique was counted on the 1901 and 1911 Census...she lived to be quite old. Lived with Gilbert)

I descend from Gilbert's son Alphonse, he was back and forth from PEI to Maine (counted on 1910 US and 1911 PEI Census). He fought in WWI with the Maine Military Men. Settled in South Portland Maine and married my Great Grandmother Mary Magdelene O'Conner on June 21, 1922. They had a son (My grandfather) Alfred Joseph Jr. in So. Portland b. June 7, 1923. Alphonse then passed away in Sept 1926 while his wife was pregnant with their 2nd child.

My grandfather Alfred Joseph Maddix Jr. was raised in Bronx, NY and married Winifred M Watson-Deacon on June 21, 1942. He fought in WWII and was wounded, spent 2 years in recovery at Percy Jones Hospital in Michigan. Sadly, we lost grandma in Oct 2001 and grandpa in May 2006.
