Rick, I am having trouble following the sequence of events in this family as presented. I found the following in the 1911 Census of Amherst: ARSENEAU, Stephen b Mar 1871 40y ARSENEAU, Katherine (sic) b May 1887 24y. ARSENEAU, Clarence b Sep 1905 5y. ARSENEAU, Roy E. b Mar 1908 3y. ARSENEAU, Lillie M. b Mar 1911 2 mos. With that as a given, with a presumed marriage of about 1904, how do you explain the following marriage record, dated in 1914!!! Stephen ARSENEAU, son of Placide & Jane ... born Nappan, NS, 33y., Roman Catholic, farmer Cathleen (sic) THOMPSON, daughter of William & Martha ... born Springhill, NS, 27y., Episcopalian, spinster witnesses: Thomas Noiles & Martha Thompson Married Amherst, NS (Baptist Church) 19 Jan 1914 NSARM, Cumberland County, NS Vital records: Book 37, p 142 Were they married AFTER some of the kids were born? Or was Stephen married previously to a Catherine before his marriage to a Kathleen? It just doesn't add up otherwise. Dennis Boudreau P.S. BTW, Placide ARSENEAU died of lip cancer at Upper Nappan, NS on 16 Dec 1928, aged 79y., farmer, born New Brunswick, s/o Stephen & (Mina Hayslope- hard to read the certificate), buried St-Charles Cem., Amherst, NS on 17 Dec 1928. Cumberland Cty. VRs, Bk 120, p 873. But you could have done this research online at NS Archives. Notify Administrator about this message?
