Arsenault PEI Questions

Hello Folks,

I am in the early stages of tracking my family history and I am able to trace my family history back only three generations...perhaps some of you will have information that can help me go four generations back or perhaps five or six?

Thanks for all your help!

My Great Grandfather: Guillium (or William) Arsenault
He was most likely born somewhere in PEI. He died rather young from either Scarlet Fever or Tyfoid Fever. His son was only about 6 months old when he died (hence the lack of detailed family information available to me). Guillium/William was in either the Canadian or the U.S. airforce and may have died in Massachusetts (Chelsea?) although it is believed that he is buried in PEI...likely near Egmont Bay area.

My Great Grandmother: Margaret LaClaire married Guillium (William) Arsenault but after his death. She remarried possibly under the name DeRoche? Margaret had gone to college on the island and became a schoolteacher on the island. I think she may have been out of college when she got to know and married to Guillium/William this may have been around the late 1800s or early 1900s.

I am not sure exactly how many children Margaret and Guillium/William had...but they did have my Grandfather: Melvin John Arsenault
Born: June 3, 1921 and Died August 2, 1999
He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts but often went back to PEI.

He married a woman who was not from Canada. My Grandmother: Dorothy Maciulcizicius. She was born on November 9, 1926 and they were married in Manchester, NH which is where they lived.

Melvin and Dorothy had 4 children...including my father: Richard John Arsenault born September 22, 1946 in Manchester, NH...he also would spend part of his childhood in PEI

I believe that my Great Grandparents or perhaps a little further back had a lot of farmland in PEI...likely near Abrams Village...at some point the land was sold and I don't believe it is in the family any longer. I do have old photos dated 1950 that show A LOT of farmland and family tending to it.

I believe my great, great Aunt is still living in PEI although she is about 95 years of age and her name is Yvonne Arsenault and she lives in Wellington, PEI.

So if any of you folks are perhaps related to me or know how I can go 4+ generations back or know of any Mi'Kmaq (possibly from Lenox Island area etc.) who intermarried with family then all of this would be most helpful!

Thank you
