J. W. ARROWOOD - Civil War Soldier - Who was he?
I am trying to find out who J. W. ARROWOOD was who was in Company I,62nd North Carolina Infantry, Confederate States of America. He most likely entered the service in Haywood County, NC as most of the soldiers in this unit did enlist there. I am working on a muli-volume set of books which I hope to have finished by June of next year which will contain a mini-genealogy on each of the over 1200 Confederate Veterans of the Civil War from Haywood County, NC; those who enlisted there or lived there. This is one gentleman who I am completely stumped on as there were no ARROWOOD'S or ARWOODS the I can find in Haywood and there I haven't been able to find anyone with the initials of J. W. thus far that matches except for one born in 1817 in Mexklenburg County.I am wondering if this could have been the gentleman and maybe he just ended up in the 62nd and did not enlist in Haywood.I hope that someone can help me.If I can get a good solid lead, then I can find the rest of the information with no problem.
I am in need of any pension record or picture of any Haywood County, NC Civil War Ancestor, so if you know anyone who hace a conection to this county, please help me network.
