I am descended from Emma or Emily Arris who married Ira Chase on June 6, 1863, in Danville, ME.
I have conflicting information about Emma's birth and parentage. A family genealogy has her name as Emma (perhaps a nickname) and her birth date as Feb 21, 1848; no other information.
There is an IGI record of the birth of an Emily Arris, daughter of Nathan Arris and Sarah Beals, on March 9, 1846, in Danville, ME. I have no further information on Nathan and Sarah.
Ira and Emma had a daughter, Edna Maria Chase, in Auburn, ME, on August 25, 1864. The following year they moved to Wabeek, Linn Co., IA. Not long after the move, Emma died. The according to the family source, she died in 1866 (at about age 18 according to his dates), but there is a tombstone in a nearby cemetery for an Emily Chase who died in 1867 at age 21. The tombstone data agree with the 1846 birth date in the IGI record.
Does anyone have any information on this family? Do all of these records refer to the same Emma or Emily? Any information on the parents?
