Found this inquiry doing research on Nicholas W. Arrington. My wife traces her roots to Nichols W. Arrington, through her mother Mary Catherine Scarboro, her mother Marie Arrington Nowell, her mother Mary Elizabeth Conyers, her mother Mary Williams Arrington the daughter of Nicholas Williams Arrington and Temperance Ann Drake. At any rate Mary Catherine Scarboro is still alive and recalls the "Cedars" and that Nicholas died/killed during the closing months of the Civil War.He was apparently returned to the plantation by one of his servants that had accompanied him.She recalled that following his death, the trustees of the estate apparently took advantage of the situation and sold the property off.I also understand that there was a fire shortly after the war that destroyed some portion of this plantation. If I have my facts fairly straight, Col. Nicholas W. Arrington is the son of General William Arrington and Mary Ann Williams Battle (2nd marriage).Gen. William Arrington is referred to in the genealogy of the "Battle Family", as the son of Arthur Arrington Jr. and Mary Sanderford.I noticed he wasn't mentioned in your Arrington Genealogy of 1670.Assuming I have the right Nicholas Arrington I would be very interested in any information concerning his activities during the Civil War and would like to also get a copy of the Immortal Nick Arrington.Any luck tracking it down yet?
