Speculation of a 1st wife for Thomas III is well founded, perhaps. The 1840 census of Gallatin Co, KY, shows his wife as 20-30, which is borderline for Charity (whose birth seems to be 1820-1822.) If this is another mother, William (1833), Mary(1837) and John (1839), all three, would have been by hers instead, but especially William. (I've seen it "James William", too: 1850 census.)
