Sandy,
I'm always happy to see a new message on the Arrasmith message board. I've only been at this a couple of months so I am anxious for any help and any information. I'll tell you everything I know which isn't much about Jesse and Leanah Hussong. I was looking on a marriage CD for Arrasmith marriages and I found a Leanah Arrasmith (b in 1831 in Indiana) married Jesse Hussong in Indiana in 1847. She was only 16 years old.
Then I found from Pam Bellanca's Family Tree that Leanah was my g gradnmother's sister. So when looking for Arrasmith's in the 1856 Story County Census, I found a family of Hussongs that lived in Franklin Township and came from Indiana. There are many families that came Indiana about the same time and settled in Franklin and Milford Townships in Story County, Iowa. And it seems like many of their children married each other. This family of Hussongs consisted of Calvin (34), Nancy E. (30), Melissa A. (10), Henriette (6), Hezekiah (3), and James (1). I'm sure these Hussongs were related to Jesse.
Then I found the little Arrasmith Cemetery where my gg grandparents Massey and Lucy Arrasmith are buried. On another grave there is a tombstone that reads "Jessey Hussong died Sept 3 1854 age 34 ys 11 mos 6 ds." And three more that read "Sarah dau of Jessey & Leanah Hussong died May 8 1854 age 3 yrs 7 mos 13ds", "Mary E dau of Jessey & Leanah died Sept 3 1853 age 9 mos 26 ds", "John W son of Jessey & Leanah Hussong died July 13 1851 age [?] [?] 19 ds [stone broken hard to read]. I believe she remarried to Stephen Harris as mentioned in original message.
Are you descended from Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, William Anderson? Do you live in Kentucky? I live in Iowa about an hour from where these people lived in Story County.
I hope this infor is of some help or at least of some interest.
