From the ggggrandaughter of Augustine Borden---
Sarah BORDEN-EATON--Elizabeth BORDEN--Mother
signed Rutha's marriage license in 1857.
She signed as Sally EATON. Sarah BORDEN and Sarah RODEN
lived in the same area--but they are NOT the same person.
Marriage license---Benjamin Arp and Sarah Roden--Book 2-page 84-May, 16-1845
Sarah Roden-b-1810-SC and un-named Pannell-b-SC
Children
1.Andrew Littleton Roden-b-1830-Tn-Monroe
2.Marion Dove Roden-b-1833-Tn-Monroe
3.John Roden--b-1835-Tn-Monroe aka Jackson Pannell
4.Sarah Jane Roden-b-1836-Tn-Monroe
5.Melvina Roden-b-1840-Tn-Monroe
6.Elizabeth Roden-b-1841-Tn-Monroe
7.Luiza(Louisa-Babe)Roden-b-1843-Tn-Monroe
Elizabeth and Louisa placed in the Arp Family as the result of a Monroe Chancery Court hearing.
Civil war record(SO 928610)of Jackson Pannell-alias John Roden--born on Ball Play Road--Monroe-Tn--1835.
States that his Mother was a Roden and his Father a Pannell--not married--so he used both names.
Just wanted to clear this up! Been my "brick wall" for some time. I dececd from John Roden-aka Jackson Pannell who was married at least 3-4-5- times.
Have a little piece of info too.
John Roden married Elizabeth Fry as Roden-changed names to Pannell.
1860 Monroe Tn census
John Roden-Pannell-b-1835
Elizabeth Fry-Roden-Pannell-b-ca-1834
1. Mary J Roden-Pannell-b-ca 1855 or 1856
2. Thomas A Roden-Pannell b-1857-1858
Thomas Pannell moved to Ga
Son-Charles Pannell
This line along with some of the Arp cousins moved to Ga.
Have a cousin in Ohio-just had heart surgery--has genealogy on a most of the Arp's and Burrus/Burris connection from Tn to Ga. Also lots of pictures of the Arp's-Burrus's. Am trying to visit her this summer and get copies of what all she has. She did her research in the 1960's and 1970's in a motor home to every state in the US--tracing families
Thanks!! vlhack
