Hi Rex,
I am tracing the history of the McGorum Family for my half Sister Dania Smy (McGorum)who lives in the UK.
I was casually talking to her a couple of years ago and she informed me that she had been diddled out of her inheritance pertaining to a biscuit company!and her last remaining Auntie who new the jist of it all had died, taking the info to her grave!
I thought little of it until I came across an Arnott in her family tree and immediately thought of Australia's Arnotts Biscuits which was created by William Arnott back in the mid 1800's. I researched William Arnott and discovered that he and his Brother originated from the same area of Fife that the McGorums and the other Arnotts hailed from. As yet I can't find the actual connection but I thought that I would let you know as a matter of interest!
