In Reply to: Organised Emigration Scotland to Canada and/or USA 1833 – William ARNOT by rex arnott of 152

Rex: William might be the William who is in the census in McNab township, Renfrew county ONT, listed for 1851 & 1861 through www.ogs.on.ca/ and still around in the same place in 1881, his son Lamont just down the road. This William almost certainly William Lamont A bp.15 Jul 1813 in Inveresk which is convenient for Leith. m.abt 1840 to Anne MOORE b.IRL

On the other hand he could be a William A s/o William A & Janet KELLOCK b. Scoonie 1810 who married in Peterboro ONT in 1834 a Marion May TAYLOR. A rather tenuous connection to a BELL family through a sister-in-law, but cannot recall any Henry.

If you can verify either as the immigrant I would be very interested. Regards, Gillian
