Perhaps a little more information will come in handy for you and all others interested in James Monroe Arnold, Sr. Actually, I'm quite sure I have seen your queries also posted on which is where most of my information has been gleaned. My mother (aged 93) remembers my father referring to his Aunt Tillie, which also adds considerable credibility. Here's all I know:

James Monroe Arnold, Sr.
b. 1790 in Georgia
d. 1870 in Franklin County, Mississippi
buried in Old Damascus Cemetery near Lucien, Mississippi - he donated the land for this burial ground when his church refused to allow the remains of his wife, Telitha Francis "Tillie" Katz Arnold - who was said to have been a member of the Choctaw Indian tribe in which she was known as Owah - burial on its sactified grounds. Tillie (b. WFT Est. 1783-1810 in either Georgia of Philadelphia, Mississippi; d. bet. June 1861-March 1867 in Franklin County, Missisiippi. She was the daughter of a sub-chief known as Little Creek. One records gives the abt. 1820 in Amite County, Mississippi for the marriage of James Monroe Arnold, Sr. and Telitha Frances Katz.

Their children: Lorenzo Dow Arnold (b. abt. 1825 in Copiah County, MS); Alsey A. Arnold (b. abt. 1828 in Copiah County); Mary "Polly" Arnold (Mrs. J. C. Simon Linder)(b. abt. 1843 in Copiah County; d. 1870 in Franklin County, MS); William (no middle name) Arnold (b. bet, 1844-1845 in Copiah County, d. 1924 in Keltys, Angelina County, Texas); and James Monroe Arnold, Jr. (b. 06/16/1861 in Lucien, Franklin County, MS, d. 05/17/1919 in Meadville, MS).

Lorenzo Dow Arnold: wed to Sarah Ann Chapman, b. 1828 in MS. Their offspring: Elam Thelasapher Arnold; Andrew J. Arnold (b. abt. 1847); and James Monroe Arnold III (b. 08/09/1849);

Alsey A. Arnold, Sr.: d. 12/1880. Wed to Susannah Vickers on 04/13/1850 in Copiah County, MS. Their children: James "Jim" Samuel Arnold (b. 12/20/1851); Mary S. "Polly" Arnold (b. abt. 1853); Millard Filmore "Fil" Arnold (b. abt. 1855); Hetty Ann Arnold (b. 07/16/1856); William "Billy" Arnold (b. abt. 1858); Thomas Jefferson Arnold (b. abt. 1859); Daniel Henderson Arnold (b. abt. 1861); Alsey A. Arnold, Jr. (b. 01/11/1864); Perley Arnold (male; b. abt. 1866); and Elizabeth Rebecca "Becky" Arnold (b. abt. 1867).

Mary "Polly" Arnold: d. 1870 in Franklin County, MS; wed to J. C. Simon Linder.

William (no middle name according to what he told my father): d. 1924 in Keltys, Angelina County, TX; buried in Gann Cemetery near community of Clawson in Angelina County; wed to the former Sarah Jane Dowdney on July 29, 1863 in Franklin County, MS.

Children of Wm. Arnold:

Emma Venora Arnold (Mrs. Rev. M. B. Stone)(b. 08/05/1875 in MS; d. 03/21/ 1966 in Marshall, TX; buried in Walker Cemetery near Lufkin, TX) - wed 12/25/1895 in Smith County, TX; her children: Buna Vianna Stone Rasberry, George Stone; Sarah Adaline Stone; Ellen Coe Stone; and another George Stone (same guy, diff. date?).

Marion Richard Arnold - died 12/10/1899 - two weeks before his scheduled wedding date.

Telitha "Tillie" Arnold (Mrs. Vernon Garrett) - no other data

Victoria S. Arnold (Mrs. J. B. "Jim" Blankenship; d. 04/24/1898; buried in Ebenezer Cemetery near Arp, TX.

Vianna or Vienna Arnold (Mrs. Wiley Knapp). Died in Louisiana. One daughter: Audrey Knapp. No other data.

William Bunyon Arnold: b. 04/30/1870 in Mississippi; wed August 02, 1890 to Mary Alice Powell in Powell, Texas. Their children: Walter Jack Arnold (1892-1973); Richard Lee
Arnold (1894-1967); Bessie Arnold (Mrs. Lloyd Dennis Sommers) (1898-1925 - Bessie was murdered at her job by an insane woman in Amarillo, TX just a few short months after her wedding; Lillie Mae Arnold (1901-1987) (Mrs. Jess Ragsdale, later Mrs. Wm. Harding); Roy Arnold (1904-1988); and Clifford Arnold (1907-1983).
