I was researching another family line and came across a witness to the capture of Col Arnett. George Reed of NC tells of his capture and being taken to a nearby house where he met Col. Arnett also a prisoner. They were held prisoners overnight at the home of John Sp ? He says that Arnett was a treasurer for the King prior to the war and there was a reward for him. The next day, Reed saw Col Arnett taken in a carriage to Wilmington and heard Arnettdied in Wilmington a week or so later. The pensioner is George Reed of NC. M805, roll 680, image 313 file R8656. I viewed it on Heritage Quest. Just thought it was a great coincidence to have 2 of my lines cross. Hope it adds to your research. Natalie Radov
