In Reply to: DNA testing to prove or disprove Arnett connections by Wayne Charles Arnett of 2568

VICTORY! There is a match between Wayne Charles Arnett (known to be a descendant of Alexander Arnett of New Jersey and Loudoun County, Virginia) and Norm Arnett (known to be a descendant of Jacob Arnett of East Tennessee). We had suspected that Jacob of East Tennessee was the same man who had appeared as a young man in the list of tithables in Loudoun County in 1777 and then disappeared, only to show up in pre-statehood East Tennessee as a witness to a deed. Through the DNA testing that Wayne set up, this hypothesis has been confirmed.

If there are any direct-line MALE Arnett descendants of Nathan Arnett of Delaware, Tennessee & Illinois -- or other male Arnetts, particularly those in England, Ireland and Scotland, I'd encourage you to sign up and scrape the inside of your cheek so that Arnett genealogy can be advanced scientifically. Like Wayne, my brother Norm arranged for a 37-marker analysis. There is a price discount if you sign up through the Arnett DNA project.
