Every post I made to you two years ago contained the source information. ;-)

This particular post had information from the Emibas CD. You have to own the cd (which I think is no longer sold) or know someone who does own the cd or get a lookup from someone (such as me) to access that information. The Emibas CD is an index made from registrations in the Swedish parish to go to a foreign country. It is about 75% complete.

The other information came from scans of the actual Swedish parish records. They are online on these three services (for a fee) and are images of the original parish books that the priest used. You access the images by registering, downloading their viewer, and paying the subscription price.

I assume the emigration was in 1912 (and not 1812) since yours was born in 1886.

I looked up the birth and baptism record of Anna Emilia.

This is from a scan of the original birth/baptism book for Lekvattnet parish. (It is in handwriting, therefore, and is not a transcribed copy. This is as close as you can get to seeing the original book without going to Sweden and begging the archivist to let you examine the book.)

You have to join Arkiv Digital to see this image. The source of exactly where you can find the image on Arkiv Digital is listed above.

This is a partial transcription of what this says.

# 26 (The baptisms are listed in order. She follows number 25 and she preceeds number 27.)

December 6 (birth date)

December 17 (baptism date)j

tally mark in column for female child

Anna Emilia

Parents:

Skogvaktare (the father's occupation, which means "forester, gamekeeper" according to "Swedish Genealogical Dictionary") Nils Berg and Ingejerd Andersdotter

Sibilia page 63 (Sibilia is their residence in the parish. It is probably a farm or village. Page 63 is where they are written in the household examination record, which is a Swedish parish record similar in format to a census but FAR more detailed. It also was updated continually and not just every ten years. It is the main reason it is easier to research in Swedish records than just about anywhere else in the world.)

30 (age of the mother)

Baptism witnesses were also listed.

16/2 (16 February, which is the date of the mother's "churching")

Read about Swedish birth and baptism customs, including "churching", in this interesting and informative article by Ingela Martenius.
