DNA / Haplogroups
To All:
There is a Arndt family member who has had an 37 marker Y-DNA test done with Family Tree DNA. The results are posted on the Aaron Family Project. At this time it seems this posting is the only Arndt in the world who has had their Y-DNA posted. http://worldfamilies.net/surnames/a/aaron/http://worldfamilies.net/surnames/a/aaron/
They also had the deep SNP test done to determine their Haplogroup, which is I1a. This Haplogroup mostly has its roots in northern France. Today it is found most frequently within Viking / Scandinavian population in northwest Europe and has spread to other European areas.
These new genealogist tools are designed to help those who have hit a brick wall in their family research. But we need to have more male Arndt family members to take the test and have those results posted. This would aid individuals in finding relatives lost in time and where the document paper trail no longer exists.
