Hi Lyn & Trevor,
John Caldwell and Jean Amour were married in Campbeltown
9 Apr 1793. They had three sons,Robt, John and Andrew. I think John may have died before the sons immigrated to the US [I do not have a death record for him.] but Jean came to South East Missouri with her sons. They were Presbyterians and Robt was instrumental in an 1840s split of the Apple Creek church into a Northern and Southern split.
Son Robert Caldwell had a daughter Mary Jane Caldwell who married Philip Sutherlin, and their daughter Mary Ellen Sutherlin is my maternal grandmother. I was hoping perhaps some one might connect by Jean Amour with her family in Scotland, but the name seems quite common.
