My grandfather is John Armour, from Maghera, Co. Derry, Ireland. I do not know his fatthers first name. His mothers last name was Pattison. My grandfather arrived in Ellis Island in 1920, was sponsored by a James Armour from Philadelphia (a cousin of his). My grandfather had 3 sisters and a brother (Jean, Elizabeth and Thomas) The third sister passed when she was young and I do not know her name.
After Ellis Island, my grandfather settled in Philadelphia, where he met my grandmother, Caroline Banes, in night school. The lived in the Philadelphia area until 1944, when the moved to Wildwood, Cape May Couny, NJ.
My grandfather had 6 children (Olive, Ida May, John, Franklin, Donald (my father) and Thomas) Currently there are 15 grandchildren (11 blood and 4 adopted), scattered across the US.
Any info on potential linkages to other Armouurs would be greatly appreciated.
