Hi, James! Thanks for your response and information. Do you have a specific birth or death date for Lizzie (Croom) Armour? The 1900 census reports her birth in July 1873; I'm wondering whether anyone in the family knows a more specific date.
Do you know where she was buried and whether she has a tombstone? Do you know her middle name? (I've heard that it might have been Catherine?? Her maternal grandmother was Elizabeth C. [nee Arnold] Robertson Croom---hence my interest in Lizzie's middle name. I'm thinking she was probably named for that grandmother.) If you are a grandson of O.P. and Lizzie (rather than the 2nd wife), you are a descendant of this grandmother's Robertson husband, but her Croom husband was also our kin. She and her daughter (Ann) both married Isaac Crooms; they were uncle and nephew and are distinguished in the records as Isaac Sr. and Isaac Jr.
My grandfather was Lizzie's brother, A.S. Croom. They were the youngest 2 children of Isaac Croom Jr. and Ann (Robertson) Croom of Madison County, TN. Their mother died when they were very young. I'm also curious to know whether any family stories about Lizzie's mother have been passed down in the Armour family; none have come down in my family. If you'd like to communicate via email, you can reach me at [email protected]. I hope to hear from you. Emily Croom
