I am attempting to locate an Armour/King marriage. The King family about which I am researching is one which appeared into Orange County, NC ca 1790 or so. One John King had his last will and testament probated in 1795, in which he named only sons: Thomas, Edward, John, Armour, and William. There may have been another family member by the name of Samuel King. He died intestate and the estate sale, according to the 1772 Estate Papers listed as buyers: Thomas King, John King, Elizabeth King, Edward King, Armour King and Benjamin Roney. Benjamin Roney was a resident of the part of Orange County, North Carolina which became northern Alamance County. The following Kings lived in that part also.IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT THIS SAMUEL WAS THE SON OF JOHN KING AND BROTHER TO THOMAS, EDWARD, JOHN AND ARMOUR!
I will welcome any assistance.
It is possible that Samuel's wife was Elizabeth because Samuel King and Elizabeth King were appointed Guardians to Ann Rainey, an orphan of James Rainey, age 12 at May Court Orange County 1766, Item 447. Also, Elizabeth served as co-administrator of the estate with Edward King, 26 October 1772.
