We are struggling to find a trace of our family before they arrived in Canada.I am interested in more information on your Armour family. We have a strong chain of Armours as a middle name. Our branch seems to have been in Northern Ireland in the early 1800s, but from where? ...In Ireland we have both County Fermanagh and County Antrim (Belfast)in our family history. We believe Charles Magwood/Maywood was possibly born in the Belfast area...and eloped with Jane/Jean Pinkburn (born in County Fermanagh)to Canada. Jane/Jean was supposedly an orphan that was being raised by Charles'(maybe even Jane's?) aunt who had the last name Armour. The name Armour is used widely in the Magwood/Maywood family - by Charles in naming his son James Armour Maywood/Magwood and Charles'and Jane/Jean's sons used the name Armour liberally in their descendants, as well. I've checked your website and see that in the 1700s your family was in Scotland. Is there possibly an Ireland connection? Thanks. Lori Cherland-McCune mcbears@pdt
