I am interested in more information on your Armour family. Our branch also originated in Northern Ireland...we have both County Fermanagh and County Antrim (Belfast)in our family history. We believe Charles Magwood/Maywood was possibly born in the Belfast area...and eloped with Jane/Jean Pinkburn (born in County Fermanagh)to Canada. Jane/Jean was supposedly an orphan that was being raised by Charles'(maybe Jane's?) aunt who had the last name Armour. The name Armour is used widely in the Magwood family - by Charles in naming his son James Armour Maywood/Magwood and Charles' sons used the name Armour liberally in their descendants, as well. Some of the names of children in this family include names you mentioned: Frederick, James, Albert, Elizabeth and Kathleen. While these may be somewhat common names, we are finding that the family repeated names a lot in honor of those gone before. Please contact me with any information you have on your father's siblings/parents/ancestors. Thanks. Lori Cherland-McCune mcbears@pdt
