Dear Leonard, thank you for reply.,I wonder if we are talking about two Williams? My husband's William was on the1830,1840 census in Fayette Co. TN. and on the 1850, 1860,1870 census in Shelby Co.,TN. CENSUS.He was the son of Robert Armour who died in Carroll Co., Tn. in about 1830.His land was sold March 1,1834,in Humphreys Co.,TN.Those who signed the deed wereRobert,Jr.,B.ca 1787;William,B.ca. 1789,his age was consistent on all census,Alesworth B.ca. 1890 Matthew Williams;Oliver; and James. Robert married Elizabert Wyott in Lincoln Co. ,N.C.,Nov.7, 1786.Williamdied before 1880 because he isn't on the 1880 census. His children who lived to adults wereJames G.D.[1818-1871];Olsey Bail [1825-1857];William C.; Afred C.;Henrietta B.ca.1834; Dickson Jarmon [1835-1905];and Calvin C.
The family says Aunt Henrietta would visits the Armours months at a time until they would become concerned about her.So I feel there was some connection some place along the way.
