Hi Patsy,
I don't know if your Andrew Armour is connected to our Armour's in Jackson Co., Tennessee or not. There is a good possibilty. Our John Armer/Armour born 1748-49 N.C. was in Jackson Co., Tenn. 1820. He was not listed in the Reconstructed 1810 census. His son William born ca. 1801-1806 TN. is my connection. John Armour died 1850 at age 101 in Jackson Co., Tenn. on Mortality Schedule. On the 1830 census Jackson Co., Tenn. listed John Armer/Armour b. ca. 1760-1770. There was no John Armer listed on 1840 census but a Unity Armour b. 1780-1790 N.C. with a son Andrew b. ca. 1829 TN. I have researched the Armour's in GA., N.C., S.C, KY, Ill, TN. Have always believed there is a connection between the GA. & TN. Armour's.
In 1790 N.C. Cumberland Co., Fayette Dist. listed Andrew Armour & 2 white females. I think he is connected to the GA. Armour's. There is a Andrew Armour b. ca. 1750 d. 1835 from GA. who fought in the Rev. War had a claim in S.C. on DAR Patriot Index and he was believed to be son of John Armour. The William & Robert who emigrated from N.C. to S.C. then Dickson Co. Tenn. & their children in KY. & Ill. I have not found Andrew as a son of either of them.
An abstract of Georgia Wills in Greene Co. 1794-1810-Will Howe of Town of Greensborough 2-31-1795 listed wife Elizabeth & daughters (real estate in S.C.) Exc. Andrew Armor & John Armor.
Hope this will help. Please stay in touch.
Patsy
