It's nice to meet another Armijo with the Spain connection. I am a first generation American. My mother is from a small town near Malaga, Spain called Frigiliana. There is another small town near Frigiliana called Nerja. There are many Armijo's there. My father was born in Costa Rica. His father was from Nerja, Spain and he was an Armijo. He migrated to Costa Rica in about 1915 or so. There are some Armijo's in Costa Rica, too.
But here's the crazy part. My mother had cousins who migrated to Argentina. I really don't know if they were Armijo's or if they were from Castilla La Vieja. I imagine that's in Andalucia, although I could be wrong. I became a Spanish citizen a few years ago. I love going.
Anyhow, I was born and raised in Southern California and am now an English teacher at the LA County HS for the Arts. It's a crazy world...and I'm discovering that there are a lot more Armijo's than I ever imagined. It's not a very common last name, but boy we get around!
Anyhow, it was intriguing to read your message. Write back if you want to talk more, otherwise take care!
Javier Francisco Armijo
