Diane,

I have in my records a Joab, S/O Isaac & Mary (Stephenson) Armfield b. ca 1811. He was apprenticed to Robert Stephenson for Blacksmith in May Court 1829, and called Male orphan age 18. Then on Aug. 17, 1829 still apprenticed to Robt. stephenson for Wheelwright trade. This was to last until May court 1831. Reference Guilford Genealogist Vol. 7, #1 - Fall 1979; pg 15. He married Susannah Murphey 28 Sept 1831 (Bond). Joab & Susannah had the following children: Elizabeth, Rebecca E., Caroline, Louisa, Phebe M.
