I would be very interested in where you got you information on Joab Armfield and that his father was Isaac, son of William Jr.. I have been trying to find this same family line and have found various information on that Joab was born about 1811 in Guilford Co., N.C. and orphaned at age 18 (or sooner) according to Guilford Co., N.C. Apprentice Bonds & Papers, 1817-1870. Says: "Orphan, apprenticed at age 18, in 1829 to Robert Stephenson, with Jno. G Hanner as witness." This information however, I got from Carter-Cook & Rippeteau-Fields family tree on Ancestry.com. This could be another Joab? I don't know, let me know what you think. Thanks S. Diane (Armfield) Austin
