Arthur Armfield from IL/OR (approx 1870-1950)

I am researching my husbands family. His great-great grandfather was Arthur Armfield. He married Mary Lang, and had 2 daughters: Pernia and Leiga. I believe the girls grew up in Witt, IL. I figure they were born in the early 1890's. There by putting Arthur's birthday somewhere in the early 1870's/late 1860's.

I suspect that Arthur and Mary may have separated.
Arthur may have died in the 1950's in Oregon.

In reasearhing the Armfield (LDS and message boards)I am guessing that Arthur is related to the Armfields from Guilford Co., NC (decended from John 1695). Jacob b.1777 (s/o William "Little Billy")and his family moved to the Mid-West (MO, IN, Iowa, and Ohio).

Any information would be appreciated. "Gramps" knows so little information about his family, and I know he would love to learn more about his roots.
