For years I have been trying to learn more of my mother's maternal grandparents. They were Bedros (changed to Peter) Badrigian and Zarouhi (changed to Sarah) Bedoyan. Bedros was born around 1902 and died in April of 1977. Zarouhi was born around 1904 and died on September 10 2006. I do not know where Bedros was from, only that his father was a minister and that his mother moved to American, her first name being Varater (not sure of the spelling). Bedros has one brother, a 'Harry' Badrigian, americanized to Harry Johnson. Both Bedros and his cousin, a second Peter Badrigian (along with his siblings), escaped with their families to America. Has anyone heard of this Badrigian family? Any information or insights would be greatly appreciated. Zarouhi Bedoyan, my great grandmother, was from Harput (Kharpert). Her father was Zakar Bedoyan, and her mother was a Mariam Yeriguian. Zakar's parents were Andon (or Andom) Bedoyan and Hazervart Ooxoozian, while Mariam's parents were Mardiros Yeriguian and Altoon Garabedian. As far as I know, all of these grandparents of Zarouhi were also indigenous to the Harput area. I have a number of siblings of Zarouhi and her father Zakar on file, but know nothing past these generations stated above. I have read that there was a Bedoyan family from Harput in the book "Parchanj General History (1600-1937)." Is there a connection and does anyone know it? Any insight into the Bedoyan, Badrigian, Yeriguian, Ooxoozian, or Garabedian families I have mentioned above would be greatly appreciated. Charles Plummer Notify Administrator about this message?
