Dear Siran
My grandfather came from somewhere around Erzerum the place they called the city of the stars. His name was Hrant Humpartzoomian but the spelling of the last name is wrong,
on my fathers birth certificate it is spelled Humpartzoumian I know this is wrong as well I have not been able to find anyone else with this spelling. My grandfather was born approx:1895 and fled Armenia around 1915 to 1920. Unfortunetaly the other men that he came with are all dead so I can not find out much information one man told me many years ago that when they fled Armenia they hid in the tree's. I do have a picture though of my grandfather maybe someday it will help.
