Massachusetts USA Pauline (Tamamian) Ovian, 98, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. Her husband, Kirkor S. Ovian, died in 1990. She is survived by a son, Charles K. Ovian, and his wife, Sally, of Rutland, VT; two daughters: Cina Kajoian, and her husband, Mike, of Dearborn, MI, and Sandra Ovian of Whitinsville; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Ovian was born, May 23, 1911, in Palu, Armenia, the daughter of Artin and Shantough Tamamian, and she was a survivor of the Armenian genocide. She moved to Troy, NY, in 1928, and to Whitinsville in 1931. She was a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Whitinsville, and the Northbridge Senior Center. She loved gardening, the Red Sox, huge family gatherings, and khema parties with her friends and family. She was an accomplished cook and baker of ethnic Armenian foods, and with her late husband, she loved to travel. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, April 22, in the Armenian Apostolic Church of Whitinsville, preceded by a Calling Hour, in the church, from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Apostolic Church, 315 Church Street, Whitinsville, MA, 01588 (www.carrfuneralhome.com).
