I suppose you mean the village of Pazmashen / Basmashen / Bismishen in the district of Harput. If not, you can ignore this information:
Just some basics: This village (current Turkish name Saricubuk) was one of the largest villages in the area. According to Paboudjian and Kevorkian ( Les Arméniens dans l'Empire Ottoman à la veille du Génocide
Paris,1992 p.371) who rely on figures of the Armenian patriarchate, the village counted 320 households (approx. 1.450 souls) around 1900. Part of the population was catholic, part protestant. Bizmishen was a well known village, that was often visited by the American missionaries residing in nearby Harput.I think you can easily find information on the village in some of the books written by them or in the periodical of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, the Missionary Herald. If you like, I can send you some more information by email.
Success with your book.
