I am trying to locate my paternal great uncle Hovsep Kayaian or Kayayan. He was from Hadjin in Adana and had two brothers, Krikor and Karekin, and a sister, Vartiter or Varthouie. We believe he originally left Adana to go to Egypt, pssibly with a group of Egyptian archaeologists. We have found a record with his name of a person entering Ellis Island in 1915, but some of the information (age) doesn't match up. His mother's name was Gayaneh.
