info. re: PRAYER BEADS

I have found numerous references in Armenian literature to people holding, fingering, or using "prayer beads." Try as I might, I have not been able to find any information on what the Armenians called their prayer beads, what prayers they customarily said with them, etc. I've seen in portraits, people holding a small string of beads with a tassel on the end. I'm assuming these are prayer beads in the Islamic style, but I would presume that the Armenians adapted them and said a Christian prayer (?) How many beads were customary? Were the beads a straight string or a ring? What prayers did they say? Can anyone enlighten me? I've actually found someone else who is asking these same questions, so if I find out, I will pass the information along.
